Wordpress TV Officially Launches

Written by Bec on February 9, 2009 – 8:00 AM -

From the producers of Wordpress.TV: “On Jan. 17, 2009  we’ve switched on WordPress.tv, your visual resource for all things WordPress. On WordPress.tv, you’ll find tutorials for both WordPress self-installs and WordPress.com to help you get blogging fast and hassle-free. We’ve kicked things off with the basics — now you can shape what comes next.”

If you want to learn how to use WordPress, how to do cool stuff with it, how to push it to the bloody edge of reason – Wordpress TV is building an exponentially growing library of video training content. WordPress.tv is just getting started but you’ll find a whole bunch of tutorials with a focus on the basics, alongside some choice presentations from last year’s WordCamps.  The purpose of the site is to make it easy for you to find up-to-date, WordPress-themed video content within a couple of clicks, without having to wade through spammy promotional videos, out-of-date content, and missing chunks of presentations.  Wordpress TV is definately a site to add to your bookmarks!

Free Snapshot Media Theme from WooThemes

Written by Bec on February 1, 2009 – 8:00 AM -

I found this free Wordpress theme template this morning titled “Snapshot” over on WooThemes, and it looks like it could be setup as a fake tube site using hosted movie files without any effort whatsoever.

Most of their stuff you have to pay for, but that one is actually a free offering.  Just click for ‘our themes” in the top nav and scroll down to demo and download it. It really looks and behaves more like a tube site would than the one they’re calling wootube. What I like is that they’re saying you don’t have to mess with custom fields to get this one up and working!

If you’d like more information on the usability of this theme check out ThemeLab’s Review of Snapshot.

The only other plugin you might want to configure and add in your page code for the “Snapshot Theme” would be the WP-Postviews plugin from Lesterchan.net,  so you can show how many times that video (page) has been loaded in.

Buy 1 Get 1 Free – StyleWP Themes

Written by Bec on January 5, 2009 – 11:00 AM -

Have you been jonesing for a new look for your blog, or maybe you’ve got an idea for a new one and want a more robust theme to set it up with? Using a more advanced design can save you hours of development time, and lets face it … your time has value too. I’m betting the prices on some of these themes from StyleWP would come in far under the per hour price tag of you doing it yourself, and as an added bonus, you can buy one anytime through Jan. 2009 and get a second theme of equal or lesser value absolutely FREE!

Perhaps a news style blog that could use this New Yorker theme

Or maybe you’d like to do something really different with your video blog with something like this Movie Press Theme
Another theme I thought was particularly slick looking is the new Sonar Tech they’ve developed to be used as a Wordpress CMS (Content Management System) Template. You’ll easily see all sorts of possiblities with this nice clean design.

Convert a Wordpress Template for Blogs Organizer

Written by Bec on January 5, 2009 – 8:00 AM -

As anyone who has purchased Blogs Organizer knows, the templates included with Blogs Organizer are very, very basic. I have some good news though! If you’ve been wanting to take one of those free open source wordpress designs and adapt it to your blogs organizer program there’s a tutorial available that will walk you through every step of the transformation process.

A somewhat new Adult webmaster resource: Adult-Help.com is putting up some really good adult webmaster tutorials, posting job offerings (these seem buried and old though which is a shame as it’s a nice feature/script), and he also has some very nice porn themed wordpress templates for sale.

Click here for the Blogs Organizer template tutorial. I actually had this tutorial idea on my to-do list for AdultBlogBuilder, and this saves my having to figure out the steps and type it all out!  Thanks Adult-Help!

Build and Manage Thousands of Adult Sites with ONE Program: Site Organizer

Written by Bec on January 2, 2009 – 8:00 AM -

Ok, I know I’m supposed to be giving you tips about Blogging, BUT …if you’re wanting to dabble in other types of adult sites (tgps, fake tgps, link trades, free sites, top lists, portal sites, fake linklists, feeder sites, site submitters, to name a few), and don’t have a clue about configuring all the various scripts needed to run them, much less the cash to license them, then you need to know about Site Organizer.

Site Organizer consists of the features and functions of  literally 30+ stand alone webmaster scripts. This is the most complete webmaster system available! With just a single copy of it, you will be able to accomplish things that would have required you to install and configure tons of stand alone scripts. Site Organizer automates the whole webmastering process to the highest level possible, supplying you with practically unlimited features and possibilities! It all depends on your skills and creativity to use it to its full power. Webmasters have been able to accomplish things that were not even originally thought of by the creators of Site Organizer! That’s why YOU really need Site Organizer!

Here’s an overview of just a few of the things you can do with Site Organizer:

1. Operate an unlimited number of sites.
Install one copy of Site Organizer and manage all of your sites from one administration panel.

2. Store and Manage all Your Site Content
With Site Organizer you can easily import your content for galleries, free sites or whatever into the database. No more time wasted in uploading a single photo addition! You will have the ability to categorize, maintain, and display image content on your sites in whatever way is the the most convenient for you!

3. Create Tons of Different Sites
With Site Organizer you aren’t limited in what sites you would like to produce. You can easily start new real tgps, fake tgps, feeder sites, portal sites, thumb tgps, text tgps, mixed tgps, fake linklists, free sites, and any other mixture of sites you can think of! One install and build them all!

4. Complete Automatic Site Updates
Site Organizer can rotate your content automatically on all of your sites. It can update your sites with fresh content at anytime you specifiy. It’s literally a set it and forget it site automation feature that works around the clock so you don’t have to!

5. Easy and Reliable Trade System for Spreading Your Traffic
Site Organizer produces a very easy to use trading system between all the sites in your network. You just define the skim percent for every site you will operate within the script and load the urls of the sites into the database. Site Organizer also provides you with the ability to create a Toplist with your trades just like other  Traffic trading scripts do.  Site Organizer is completely compatible with any other Traffic Trading software!

6. Total Traffic Control
Site Organizer gives you detailed stats for every click made on any of your sites. It keeps detailed and various statistics for your traffic and clicks to every single link of your sites. This way you have complete control of your traffic, and you’ll always know where it goes and how much goes there.

7. Smart Thumbnailer Tool
Site Organizer provides you the ability to autothumbnail your galleries. The Thumbnailer in this script is fast, accurate, and doesn’t bog down your server. It is written in pure PHP and the results truly are awesome. It even provides a sharpening filter to make your thumbs look better,  and does not require Image Magic.

There’s lots more features just too numerous to list here, and if you get to building with the script and need a particular function that isn’t available, ask to have it added! These guys aren’t happy until you are, and they are always tweaking and upgrading the features offered. (Note: All upgrades are FREE forever to owners of the script).

Now I know you’re thinking “just how much is this miracle of automation and organization gonna cost me?”  Site Organizer is on sale for $157 (normally $175). You’ll pay more than that for a single site license to just about any other type of script. Just setting up two sites with one of the more popular tgp scripts will set you back over $350.

Still too much? Ok — then download Script Organizer, wilth all it’s functionality and no time usage limits, for free. The free license will setup a 3% traffic skim. When you’re happy with what you’re able to do with this script, then pay for a full license and eliminate the skim. It’s that simple. So what are you waiting for? Start building that porn empire you’ve been dreaming about and get your copy of Site Organizer today!

Note: Those building Blog Empires should purchase BLOGS ORGANIZER.
Tip: Use both programs together and there’s no limiting you in what you can create!

Check the Cross Browser Compatability of Your Sites

Written by Bec on November 25, 2008 – 8:30 AM -

I’m sure you’ve all found or purchased a fantastic theme or design, and you rush to put it up and get a new site happening, but when you start showing off your latest creation, your friends start saying it looks funky in IE 6 or FireFox or any of a multitude of browsers and browser versions in use today.

So how can you be sure your design is going to work properly in all of these browsers? There is an easy solution: You can plugin your site URL on BrowserShots and check for cross browser compatability. Browsershots makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It is a free open-source online service created by Johann C. Rocholl. When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server on BrowserShots.

It’s a free webmaster tool, and you can easily select, or unselect, the browsers you want your design checked against. They are also listed by Operating System: Linux, Windows, Mac OS and BSD.

And a tip of the hat to Abostonboy for hooking me up to this cool webmaster resource!

How Can I Edit the Widgets?

Written by Bec on November 17, 2008 – 8:30 AM -

One of the neatest features to Wordpress is the widget. With a simple click, a drag and drop, you have customized sidebars in no time flat. But what if the widget just doesn’t display correctly for your theme? Where are the darn things and can they be adjusted?

Answer: Yes, if you’re comfortable editing code, you can edit them, and they’re located on the widgets.php file located in the includes folder of Wordpress. You can’t edit this from the design or plugin areas, so you’ll have to download it and do your edits on your drive, and then replace the page online when you’re finished. Reminder: COPY the page before you edit and tuck it in another folder just to be sure you have the original in case something goes wrong!

For example, I just had a client who asked for some setup help, and upon activating the Tag Cloud Widget, I saw that the font size and the number of tag words was just too much for the sidebar space alloted via the template theme he was using. Words were crammed in over others, and the font size had words busting out over the blog edges. Here’s where I did a little editing magic to bring things back into proper scale for his blog:

File to manipulate in a program like Dreamweaver or Notepad: wp-includes/widgets.php

Find this entry around line 1372:
wp_tag_cloud();

Make your changes to:
wp_tag_cloud(’smallest=10&largest=14&number=25&orderby=name’);

“smallest” = the size of the smallest font you want
“largest” = the size of the largest font you want
“number” = the amount of tags you want to appear
“orderby” = is how the orders of the tags will be shown

With some careful customizations of your widgets, you can have full control back on how things look on your blog!
