Check the Cross Browser Compatability of Your Sites
Written by Bec on November 25, 2008 – 8:30 AM -I’m sure you’ve all found or purchased a fantastic theme or design, and you rush to put it up and get a new site happening, but when you start showing off your latest creation, your friends start saying it looks funky in IE 6 or FireFox or any of a multitude of browsers and browser versions in use today.
So how can you be sure your design is going to work properly in all of these browsers? There is an easy solution: You can plugin your site URL on BrowserShots and check for cross browser compatability. Browsershots makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It is a free open-source online service created by Johann C. Rocholl. When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server on BrowserShots.
It’s a free webmaster tool, and you can easily select, or unselect, the browsers you want your design checked against. They are also listed by Operating System: Linux, Windows, Mac OS and BSD.
And a tip of the hat to Abostonboy for hooking me up to this cool webmaster resource!
