Did You Do a Backup of Wordpress Before Upgrading?

Today is one of those days where I’m sure glad I practice what I preach! Anytime I setup a blog for someone, I am adamant about uploading and activating the WP-DB-Backup plugin, and instructing the new blog owner to be sure to backup their blog before doing an upgrade.
There are some other database plugins, like Database Manager, and you’re certainly welcome to try a different one than I’m using, but USE ONE! I tried to take this blog to version 2.6 and the moment it threw me to the login page when I requested the upgrade page, I knew something wasn’t right. It refused to let me login. I went to the Wordpress forums, and found a whole lot of other folk in the same boat, with a myriad of “fixes” … none of which worked for ME of course.
So, I humbly went to the guys at NatNet and cried HELP! They were able to take the backup I’d done and got me back into the Admin. They in turn then tried to upgrade for me and it failed, twice. So this blogger is going to wait a bit for the coders to figure it all out before I try this again!
And just a shout-out to the crew at NatNet for helping sort it all out so quickly!
